How to fix bink2w64.dll is missing error in Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice

The game that I’ve been waiting for 3 years is finally released. The developers by Ninja Theory have done a great work for indie studio and the price tag of the game was so low that I couldn’t resist to buy it on Steam. The problem has started when I tried to install the game on my Windows 10 computer. The bink2w64.dll is missing error has appeared once I tried to launch the game and even after second reinstallation it remained. Steam doesn’t care about such issues, so they offered me to refund the money, but I wanted to support the developers of such great game and I was sure that the issue is not related with the game nor steam. After a few hours of searching on web I finally found the solution.

bink2w64.dll is missing from your computer error might appear at any time on your computer. Coincidence or not, but in my case I got this irritating error after installing Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice. Anyhow, the error is related with missing system library which was damaged, corrupted or removed from your computer by any means. In order to fix this issue, you can try to reinstall the application and if it brings necessary redistributable in the installer it might be useful, however you can manually install the bink2w64.dll library by downloading it from here: and following the installation instruction provided on this website. After installing the library, I had to reboot my computer and was able to run Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice. The game is awesome, but I have to warn you – if you die a lot your progress might be erased and you will have to start all over from the beginning.
