It’s been a long time since GTA 5 was released, but only now the game could be purchased with a great discount on Steam, so I took advantage of this and acquired the game. The installation took a while but I knew it worth it. I’ve been enjoying the previous version for few years after it was released and it didn’t have official multiplayer. Anyway, when the installation was completed I was unable to run the game because of D3dcompiler_43.dll is missing error. I’ve tried to run the game directly from the .exe file bypassing the launcher, run as administrator, compatibility mode and other things that were suggested by users on Rockstar forum – nothing has helped.
I didn’t want to install some suspicious programs and modifying game data, so I ignored all of those unofficial forums. I really wanted to play GTA 5, so I started to look for the solution by myself. Google search is your friend when you need to find some information, so it helped me to find a lot of information about dll files and why such errors as D3dcompiler_43.dll is missing happen. I’ve tried to reinstall Microsoft redistributables, but the error remained, so the last hope was to install directly the D3dcompiler_43.dll file into my system. Thankfully I found the comprehensive instruction on this website and also a genuine D3dcompiler_43.dll library here: http://fix4dll.com/d3dcompiler_43_dll. After copying the library into proper location I rebooted my computer and when it booted up I started the game normally from the launcher and it started to update. After the update I was able to successfully run the game. So, if you have D3dcompiler_43.dll is missing error in GTA 5 just install the missing library and you will solve the error.
