How to fix d3dx9_43.dll is missing error in Borderlands 2

Few days ago, I upgraded my video card and decided to play all the cool games that I’ve enjoyed in the past on ultra-graphics settings. My computer is running Windows 10 64 bit and the first game I decided to install was the Borderlands 2. I’ve purchased it on Steam a long time ago and didn’t finish it, because my old video card was always lagging and it was impossible to play properly. After the installation I tried to launch the game, but the system error popped up stating that d3dx9_43.dll is missing from my computer and I have to reinstall the program. Steam is a wonderful platform that allows you to check the integrity of all game’s files without reinstallation. So, I did that and the game is ok. I’ve searched on some forums and found that the problem belongs to the Windows operating system and it is quite common.

Despite the fact that the d3dx9_43.dll is missing error is quite popular and happens very often, there is no unique solution for all of the cases. I’ve tried to reinstall video card drivers and other things recommended on forums, but nothing has helped me to fix the issue. In the end of the day, I’ve wasted lot of time and didn’t resolve the issue with d3dx9_43.dll is missing. I’ve decided to try the last thing before going to bed, and it actually worked! So, I just downloaded the d3dx9_43.dll library from here: and installed it in my system folder as described in the installation instructions on this website. After quick reboot, Borderlands 2 started to work without giving any dll error. I bet this guide might work for other games and applications, just give it a try. Feel free to share this guide.
