Yesterday I left my computer turned on over the night to perform full system scan with my antivirus. In the morning I found that the scanning process was completed and anti-virus software shut down my system, however when I tried to boot up I got a weird system error message stating that dnsapi.dll is missing from my computer, reinstalling the application may fix the problem. After that I started to see this error every time I boot up and sometimes when I try to run some programs. Sometimes my PC even freezes and I thought that it is related with dnsapi.dll is missing error. I started to search for the solution, since the common methods as system restore to previous date didn’t fix the problem.
While surfing the Internet I found a lot of useful information about dll files and reasons of dll is missing errors. Also, I found a lot of malicious forums and guides that will try to trick you into installation of some third party software that will infect your computer with malware. So, I’ve decided that I won’t install any unofficial programs and will try to fix my problem manually. Therefore, I have downloaded dnsapi.dll file from here: http://fix4dll.com/dnsapi_dll and installed it by myself into the system folder and registry. The complete installation instruction can be found on the website and it is easy to perform even for users who are not very familiar with IT, just like me. Anyhow, after rebooting my computer I finally got rid of dnsapi.dll is missing from your computer error.
