Few months ago I’ve bought a new Nvidia GeForce 1080 video card and installed all of the drivers and of course the GeForce Experience, that allows to automatically optimize games, connect to Twitch stream and record games using Shadow Play feature. At first it worked perfectly, I was able to scan my games library and optimize all of them, however, few days ago I got a notification that the new version of GeForce Experience has been released and it prompted me to update my current version, so I did. After launching the new version of GeForce Experience I got system error which was stating the following: “The Program can’t start because MSVCR120.dll is missing. Please reinstall the program to fix the problem”. After the reinstallation the error remained and I didn’t know how to fix it. I made a post on the GeForce forum where I explained my problem, but never got any feedback from the Nvidia.
Users suggested to check the system folder and verify if the msvcr120.dll file is there. I’ve checked and the file was not there. I found that the file belongs to the Windows operating system and should be located in the system folder by the default. Anyway, the file was not there, somehow it disappeared and that caused the issue. To fix msvcr120.dll is missing I simply installed the msvcr120.dll file from here: http://fix4dll.com/msvcr120_dll and followed the detailed installation instructions provided on the website. After that I was able to launch GeForce Experience and use all of its features. Hope this will help you to fix the msvcr120.dll is missing error that happens after updating the GeForce Experience.
