Fixing libmysql.dll is missing in Ruby on Rails

I am running Windows 10 and I’ve tried to setup mysql server with the help of XAMPP. I’ve decided to learn developing on Ruby on Rails and installed it. When I try to run ruby.exe the libmysql.dll is missing error appears. The next try I managed to launch ruby but when I try to run rails server the error message appears saying that the program can’t start because libmysql.dll is missing from your computer. I started to look for the solution on the Internet and found working one.

So the libmysql.dll is missing error in ruby happens because the libmysql.dll file is missing or damaged. To fix this error all you have to do is download libmysql.dll from here:

Now just copy libmysql.dll into the C:\Ruby\bin\ – the location of your Ruby on Rails.

If you still getting libmysql.dll is missing from your computer error you might want to copy libmysql.dll downloaded from here into the C:\Program Files(86)\MySQL  Server X.X\lib.

This should fix your libmysql.dll is missing or not found errors. Have a nice day.
