After opening some email attachment yesterday, my computer started to behave strange. First, I’ve noticed that my processor’s and graphic card temperature went up dramatically. Without using any heavy program the temperatures were so high. So, I brought my PC to the local PC repair store and the technician who have scanned my PC said that my computer was infected with some viruses and other malware, that he successfully cleaned. Anyhow, after repairing my computer I tried to play Civilization VI which I had installed on my computer for long time ago, a system error appeared stating that msvcp140.dll is missing from my computer. I didn’t have that error before cleaning my computer from threats. I tried to update drivers, but that didn’t solve the problem. So, I started to search on the Internet for the solution and few hours later I found how to fix the program can’t start because msvcp140.dll is missing from your computer error in Civilization VI.
I found that msvcp140.dll is usually happening after virus attacks, since it is a very popular system library it is always targeted by malware and they replace it with malicious dll files. Probably that’s what happened in my situation and after removal it just disappeared. So, to fix msvcp140.dll is missing from your computer error when launching Civilization VI, you just need to download msvcp140.dll library from here: https://fix4dll.com/msvcp140_dll.
