How to fix d3dx9_42.dll is missing error in Minecraft

Minecraft is probably one of the best survival games I’ve ever played. To be honest, I had a version that I downloaded from torrents which I used to play, but when I discovered the discount offered by Steam, I decided to buy and play the official version. However, my first experience with it was not encouraging. After downloading and installing it, I received the d3dx9_42.dll cannot be found on your computer error message when I tried to launch it. I found this odd because I didn’t experience it with any of my previous Steam games. I checked out the game file’s integrity and there was no error, yet each time I attempted to launch the game I got the d3dx9_42.dll is missing error message.

Fixing vcruntime140.dll is missing error in Adobe Audition

I was recently inspired to remix some well-known songs using Adobe Audition software. The software is free and comes with different features that you can use to edit and save music as either MP3 or any extension you like. When I finished the remix, I tried to export it as an MP3 file, but I got a pop up message telling me that vcruntime140.dll is missing and could not be found on my system and that I should reinstall the app. I was lucky to have saved the project, so I tried to perform the action again after the reinstallation but I kept on getting the vcruntime140.dll is missing error message. I’ve never experienced any problem with Adobe Audition, and this was quite annoying. I tried contacting Adobe support, but was unable to get in touch with them, so I decided to go online to find a solution.

I tried installing different versions of Visual Studio, however nothing seemed to work. Funny enough, the program worked when I installed it on my laptop. Anyway, my laptop is too out-dated to work well with Visual Studio 2016. I discovered a lot of fascinating information when I went online to search for a solution.

How to fix api-ms-win-crt-string-l1-1-0.dll is missing error in Windows 10

Few weeks ago my parents presented me some used HP touch Envy TS 17 laptop and I was very happy with it and everything was working great. However, few days after I decided to install some games on it and when I was trying to run a game (laptop comes with NVIDIA GEFORCE graphics card embedded) the following messages popped up: api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Please reinstall the program to fix the problem. After that message the game had crashed. I have tried to reinstall the game and also have installed all the updates and even tried installing a new BIOS. I have also tried installing all the redistributable and windows updates. However, that didn’t help. I clean booted the system and have also tried installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 package, however, even this didn’t seem to work. During the Setup Progress, it fully processed but didn’t progress any further. The same messages pop up after I tried running the game again.

I was looking forward to enjoying my game, after installing the Destiny 2 that I purchased from Battle.net, only to get an error message stating that: The program can’t start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. I reinstalled the game, but it didn’t change anything, and I almost went back to get my money. The Blizzard support was my last hope, but they were unable to help me with my problem. Their suggestion was for me to install the vcredist folder files, which I did to no avail. I decided to look for people who are experiencing the same api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing error. I discovered that a lot of people on the Blizzard forum were asking about the same problem and the Battle.net staff kept giving them the same advice.
